Dunne Cup Semi Final 2012 2012-12-14 15:53:00

Our Seniors had an excellent win over a very determined Holywood Team in Donard Saturday night. They now qualify for the league final were they will play St Pats of Wicklow in a repeat of this years County Final.

Balto had an excellent start and settled into the game very well. Sean O'Brien made a fine left footed finish for his goal after some very good work from Rory Nolan and Tommy Cullen. Minutes later, Shane Wall who was showing very well out in front collected a ball out on the left wing corner, cut inside his man an sent an absolute rasper to the back of the net from a very acute angle.

Only minutes into the second half, Alan Nolan saw the line for a straight red after disputing a free for over carrying with the referee.  Holywood came back into the game with a goal and two points just after this and it was looking worrying for Balto at this stage with the momentum swicthed to Holywood.

However, the fourteen players worked really hard along with the late subs introduced to see out the win in a game which was actually a lot closer than the scorboard would reflect.
