Senior League: Balto win at home over Rathnew 2013-03-10 13:32:00

Baltinglass win at home in an entertaining game over a very good Rathnew side on Friday night on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-6. With both Teams missing County players, this was an opportunity for fringe players on both sides to show their worth to their respective management teams. The game was a a lot closer than the Final scroeline of 1-9 to 0-6 points would suggest with Shane Wall scoring the goal late into the second half which finally put some real day light between the Teams.

Patsy had another solid game in the goals for the Seniors. Missing John Flynn to County commitments, Patsy proved a reliable replacement to one of the best keepers in the Country at the present time.

The full back well played well to contain a very busy Rathnew full forward line that carried a real threat on goal. Al Nolan had a very good night at midfield and contested well along with Jay Kennedy in the middle of the park.

Up front, Joey Kelly and Henry Sinnott showed well at times with all forwards working hard to deny Rathnew easy passage from the backs.

Overall, it can be considered a very good win over one of the top teams in Wicklow.
